Muslim academics and students are turning against Darwin's theory by

Muslims in many countries are increasingly rejecting Darwin’s theory of evolution, under the influence of conservative elements in Islam, a science conference was told yesterday.
Nidhal Guessoum, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, told the conference, being held in Egypt by the British Council, that in too many places students and academics believed they had to make a “binary choice” between evolution and creationism, rather than understanding that one could believe both in God and in Darwin’s theory. The Signs of Love
by Imam Ibn-Hazm
Love has certain signs which the intelligent man quickly detects, and the shrewd man readily recognizes. Of these the first is the brooding gaze: the eye is the wide gateway of the soul, the scrutinizer of its secrets, conveying its most private thoughts, and giving expression to its deepest-hid-feelings. You will see the lover gazing at the beloved unblinkingly; his eyes follow the loved one’s every movement, withdrawing as he withdraws, inclining as he inclines, just as the chameleon’s stare shifts with the shifting of the sun… (read more…)

On the Nature of Love
by Imam Ibn-Hazm
Of Love – may God exalt you! – the first part is jesting, and the last part is right earnestness. So majestic are its diverse aspects, they are too subtle to be described; their reality can only be apprehended by personal experience. Love is neither disapproved by Religion, nor prohibited by Law; for every heart is in God’s hands… (read more…)

The Issue of Insurance by

This short article is intended to summarize Islamic point of view on insurance. In the current century insurance has become a necessity of daily life, with insurance companies charging insance amounts. In a true Islamic country where its citizens pay all the required taxes, it would be the responsibility of the state to help its citizens recover any losses they incur due to difference circumstances. It is also logical that if a state does not provide for its citizens when they are in trouble, then there is no use of paying the taxes. (read more…)

Extremism Meets Fundamentalism: Fundamentalist Jews Couple with Evangelical Christians for a Common Goal. A Quick Investigation by
Hammad Nawaz posted on 1254531900|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover
Likud party’s tie with the Christian Right is an old one, dating back, at least, to May 1977 when Begin was elected prime minister of Israel. A 1977 full-page advertisement that appeared in major U.S. newspapers read: “The time has come for evangelical Christians to affirm their belief in biblical prophecy and Israel’s divine right to the land. We affirm as evangelicals our belief in the Promised Land to the Jewish people … . We would view with grave concern any effort to carve out of the Jewish homeland another nation or political entity.” The ad was financed and coordinated by Jerusalem’s Institute for Holy Land Studies, an evangelical organization with a Christian Zionist orientation. The advertising campaign was one of the first public signs of a Likud-evangelical alliance. (read more…)

Age of Sayyidna Aisha (ra) at the time of her Marriage by
Ali J Tama posted on 1248979112|%A: %d %B, %Y|agohover
Islam has become a target of slander and ignorance in the last few years. Of the many disinformation campaigns, one is regarding the age of Sayyidna Aisha (ra) at the time of her marriage with Nabi Muhammad (pbuh). Instead of any justification or rebuttal, my intention here is to shed some light over the more mainstream references literature by different parties and throw some light over another issue. Before I start, I would also like to say that to date there has been no convincing proof that Arabs used to marry off their daughters while they were adolescent (around the time of Islam). For anyone claiming such, other than verbal verbatim a substantial proof should be accompanied. For myself, to-date I have not found a single dependable instance in the history books of Arabia where a girl as young as nine years old was given away in marriage. Unless such examples are given, we do not have any reasonable grounds to believe that it really was an accepted norm. (read more…)

Degrading Characters by

“Humans throughout the world are loosing their character” is acknowledged universally, at home and abroad, in business and government circles, and in every sphere of administrative activity. Lack of character produces social imbalance and leads ultimately to a global decline and disintegration. This virus has been eating up the vitals of our social lives too fast and by the time we woke up to it, it was what we found as its aftermath was an unexpected shock. (read more…)
